Created for the season wrap party of the TV series "Fresh Off the Boat", this cocktail was inspired by season 3 episode "The Flush." In this episode Louis, the Father in the series (played by Randall Park) explains to his son, Eddie (Hudson Yang), the adverse reaction (called "Asian Flush") that Eddie experiences after drinking beer for the first time.
This cocktail has crisp fruit flavors from the cranberry and from the fresh mandarin used in the shrub. It also gets a nice tart component from these ingredients. The bitters add a layer of complexity with ginger being the leading spice. The garnish provides a perfect flavor compliment!
